I had extra fabric from the chair that I am currently upholstering, so I decided to use the remainder for this adorable footrest. It is a navy and white fabric with chartreuse double welting. I am in love! It will be in my booth later this week.
I have placed a few items for sale at Birds and Belles on South Pearl in Denver (north of I-25). I have the MCM chair I upholstered, an adorable yellow nightstand/ small dresser with carved wood pulls, and three Venetian style nesting tables – go check them out! The store won Best of Denver in Vintage clothing last year, and it has some adorable items!
This Mid Century Modern Walnut Danish – Broyhill Emphasis Dining Room set turned out gorgeous! When I bought it the table was in perfect condition, but the chairs needed a little sprucing up and fabric update. The chairs have been stained and a clear coat has been applied for protection. I also updated the fabric to a fun mid century style that adds current style to the set. There are a few small strands missing in the wicker/cane on the chairs, but it is not displeasing to the eye or structurally compromised. The table extends and allows for two 18″ leaves, and it has a custom table top cover to protect the table when it is not in use. Overall this set is in great condition and would make a wonderful addition to your home. The table measures 66″x40″x30″ (l,d,h) when leaves are not added, and extends to 102″ when the leaves are inserted.
I decided to add to my set of skills and take an upholstery class at the local technical college. I chose a Mid Century Modern style chair and a fun yellow fabric. The class was a huge learning experience, and I am so very proud of myself for completing it! Here are the pictures of the eight week process. There are a few minor things I still need to do for the chair before I sell it, but it will definitely be for sale soon!
I signed up for another class and chose a wing back chair to learn more techniques. I am so excited!
